Wedding: Suzy & Ryan

An absolutely stunning wedding – attributed in no small part to the 8 inches of snow that covered the rural village outside Dorchester. Fortunately we journeyed up the night before – because the 1 1/2 hour journey to a staggering 5 hours!! A fantastically photogenic couple and an all round Christmassy mood made this a really lovely day, and a lot of fun to shoot.

Best lesson learned: Salopettes may not be smart, but if you have to lie/kneel on the ground in 8 inches of snow to get the right angle they sure are the best thing you can wear. Contrast with the photographer in his suit – not so nice.

Having the ability to split easily into two mobile units is an important development. An oft overlooked aspect of the wedding day is the 'getting ready' - and being able to send Eve off to shoot the bride and the maids putting the war paint on while I shoot the (inevitably) nervous groom adds a great contrast and set-up to the cut.
